CHS STudent wins Voice Scholarship
Eight students from CHS and NHS got to participate in UVA-Wise Voice Day on October 13. This was an all-day workshop where choir students
and directors from all over the region got invited to the UVA-Wise campus to have a masterclass vocal pedagogy lesson with a nationally acclaimed vocal professor and conductor, as well as participate in a 124-member concert choir!
Jaxon Millbratz, a sophomore at Chilhowie, was also selected for a chance to audition for a scholarship at UVA-Wise. After singing a prepared classical solo in front of the entire workshop, and then for a jury of professors, Jaxon got awarded $1500 (as a sophomore!!) the maximum amount awarded.
