welcome to Chilhowie High School in this video I'll be going over some of the important points of our hybrid schedule in hopes of answering some of your questions our desire is to see reopening happen in the safest way possible to do this we must follow a few basic rules the two rules that cannot be stressed enough or to properly wear a mask at all times unless you're finger drinking or on a teacher designated masks break and to always maintain social distancing this means at least six feet from each other when it all possible one of the two important things one of the two important things 6 feet and wear a mask there are decals on the floor to help practice social distancing you will be required to wear a mask each morning before you get on the school bus once you have arrived this school you'll enter the front door where you'll have your temperature checked by one of our staff 98.6 if you have driven and herbicide the Ag Building you'll end of the door between the auditorium and the library here you'll also be met by a staff member for temperature checks any student with a temperature above 100 degrees will be taken to the nurse for observation 60 I have a question how will breakfast be done following your daily temperature check you'll have the option to pick up a grab-and-go breakfast located at the door you entered all students will go straight to their first block classroom lockers will not be used at this point so you'll need to carry all of your supplies in a backpack that you'll keep with you throughout the day once in your classroom your teacher will show you where to sit so that social dis can be maintained the proper wearing of a mask is non-negotiable if a student chooses not to properly wear their masks they will be required to attend to school virtually everyone knows your mask to cover your nose and mouth student will be given to reusable cloth masks to keep for themselves all water fountains have been disabled we now have one water bottle filling fountain located near the library with this in mind look at bringing a bottle for yourself to refill throughout the day restroom breaks will be allowed throughout the day with the understanding that no more than three students can be using one at any time please wash your hands as often as you can throughout the day hand sanitizer will be supplied to each classroom classrooms will be disinfected between classes and be on Wednesdays if your teacher is not completed the cleaning before you arrive please maintain six feet from others until the process is completed class changes and times will be similar to those in the past though the time to get to plants and to eat lunch have been extended traffic in the hallways is one way stay to your right as you walk to your destination and I think I can I think I can I think I can if I want to go to the second floor is there a certain staircase I have to use upstairs I need to go down there is only one way use the stairwell on the math Wing end of the building between mrs. Room and the boys restroom is one way both hallways and staircase so if I'm doing school work at home do I still have to wear a mask lunch will be eaten in both the cafeteria and the gym to allow for social distancing you will pick up your lunch in the cafeteria and then be directed to the proper load Haitian and seat during lunch you will be able to remove your mask while you were eating at the end of the day those with parent pickups will be released at 3:10 those riding the bus will be called out of their classrooms as the buses arrive by bus number this usually starts at 3 came what time do we get to leave if we drive drivers if you drive to school you will be called out at 3:15 to leave school you'll go directly from your class to your car and ex the door you came in when you came to school that morning everyone is longing for the day when we get back to normal when we have our students are participating in sports but for now this is the best we have for this to work students must understand they have to wear a mask and social distance whether you stay virtual or go high please understand the staff at Chilhowie High School are here to help you in any way possible we so look forward to the day when every student walks through our doors
